English Language and LiteratureFatih University students from 70 different countries gathered for the 7 Continents 7 Colors festival.
Coming from 70 different countries, 600 foreign students studying at Fatih University present their own culture and traditions in a festival called 7 Continents 7 Colors. The Festival of peace is a day of food, music, and dance; festival that is very much alive and full of heart-warming laughs. The scent of cuisines from across the globe carried through the air as a blend of lively music played from every direction at the 7 Colors 7 Continents festival.
The purpose of the festival is to bring the other countries, cultures and traditions to the stage and know them better and also to establish brotherhood and peace all over the world.
There is a great chance of representing our own culture and traditions in this festival. As Tajik students at Fatih University, this year we had a great chance to represent our motherland Tajikistan, our culture, tradition, language, traditional dance, music, food and clothes. Even though Tajikistan is a small and young country it has an old history & culture. All the bright clothes, dances and the great delicious food were all represented by the Fatih University Tajik students. We let the people know how rich the Tajik culture is.
During the festival we had the chance to put our Tajik flag up! We made the guests and everyone talk of how great our nation is and of how great Tajik music, food and dances are.
We attracted so much attention that our dances were on stage for 3 days of the festival and we performed for the TV and gave interviews and were on the first pages of the newspapers. We were even requested to play the Tajik music so that everyone could dance and learn our songs and dances. During the opening ceremony of the festival one of our Tajik friends from Fatih University Faruh Vohidov was invited to the stage and certificated for being an excellent student. During the 7 Continents 7 Colors festival once again we became proud of being a Tajik!
